Common Core Plan

The Educational Services Department has completed a rough draft of the CCSS Plan for RUSD.  This plan, which must be approved by the Rialto Unified School District Board of Education, is necessary in order to spend the $5.3 million that the state has given us to implement the common core over this year and next year.

The plan encompasses 6 areas:  Curriculum, Instructional Strategies, Materials, Assessment, Professional Development and Policies.  Each area has an overarching goal with objectives below it and it is written as an action plan with a timeline for implementation.  Educational Services has also developed an outline of what has already been completed during the 2012-2013 school year for your review.

We hope that you will take time to review the draft of the CCSS Plan and visit our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page for more information.

One of the biggest challenges RUSD is facing as we implement the Common Core State Standards is to identify effective resources to improve classroom instruction.  Rialto Unified School District is committed to identifying various resources to assist teachers and administrators with their transition to the CCSS.  Please feel free to contact Educational Services directly with any questions, concerns, or to share a great resource!
